Discover our tips to develop a more sustainable coffee consumption.

CHOOSING AN ORGANIC COFFEE

Perhaps the most important and yet obvious choice. After all, you'll find few coffees as committed and responsible as Araku Coffee .

But explaining all the benefits of choosing an organic Araku coffee requires its own article which you will find here .

CHOOSING A SUSTAINABLE COFFEE MAKER

The electronic components of a coffee maker are usually the first to fail. Hot water vapors and finely ground coffee tend to infiltrate and damage the circuits. To choose a coffee machine that will last, it is better to get one without electronic components. If you are looking to buy an espresso machine, you can choose for example for a ROK GC , a manual lever machine without any electronic components.

To avoid waste, it is also preferable to ditch single-use components, such as disposable filtres. The French press and the moka pot are obvious choices. These iconic coffee makers have stood the test of time and do not use disposable filters. If you prefer filter coffee, you can also invest in a reusable filter, like those for Chemex or Aeropress by ABLE.

SAY GOODBYE TO DISPOSABLE CUPS

Speaking of waste, takeaway coffee cups generate a lot of waste. Although today the industry has made efforts to use more environmentally friendly materials, the amount of waste has not significantly decreased.

A simple and useful gesture is to use a reusable thermos for your takeaway coffee! Many coffee shops, including ours, offer discounts if you bring your own container. A thermos also has the benefit of keeping your coffee hot for at least 6 hours.
