Prime Minister Modi also recalls that Araku coffee had already been well received at the G20. Indeed following the end of the summit in Delhi, the Indian government decided to offer Araku coffee to the leaders present. A choice welcomed by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Araku, Anand Mahindra. He explains that he is very proud of Araku coffee, which represents Indian excellence internationally.
Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal followed in Prime Minister Modi's footsteps and in turn praised Araku coffee and described it as "second to none". It is important to note that Araku coffee had already been granted a 'Geographical Indication' (or GI) label in 2019 by the Indian government. This label is similar to the AOP label in France and makes it possible to control and protect the designation and origin of Araku coffee.
